Toyota IQ: the concept city car

The mankind's attitude was always based and focused on fastness and speed. Even if they were not completely utilizing all the extreme features and specifications provided in the car, and irrespective of the fuel efficiency, they have been addicted to use the fastest SUVs.

But, now gradually experiencing the financial crisis and severely being hit by the recession period, the public has now started turning their heads towards the cost and most energy efficient cars, which are said to be the small mileage cars. This is what I personally felt as one among the public.
And "Toyota IQ" is one of them, which grabbed the views of all the people who are planning to buy an energy and cost efficient car. Here are some of its features and specifications discussed below.

The smallest Toyota ever – the iQ hatchback – isn’t coming to India. Toyota has just announced prices for the car, which will go on sale in Europe from January 2009. And at around Rs 7.5 lakh, it just won’t work in the Indian market. But the car looks so right for us – given the ever-increasing traffic congestion on our roads, the serious problem with finding parking space in most cities, and the fact that most cars carry only 1-3 occupants at any given time.

Powered by a 1.0-litre VVT-i engine, the Toyota iQ comes with alloy wheels, air-conditioning and safety systems like Anti-lock brakes (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control with steering assist (VSC+), Traction Control (TRC) and nine airbags, including a world-first rear window airbag.

We wish Toyota would develop an India-specific version of this car, with a 2+2 seating configuration, that would allow seating for two adults and two children, or, with the rear seat folded flat, two adults and space for some luggage. With an 800-1,000cc engine, which should be capable of running on petrol or CNG, such a car would be the perfect mass-market Toyota for India…

The FLYING CAR!!

Here is a car which runs on roads as well as, also can fly in the sky, which can be considered equally as a mini 2-seater plane.

The mankind is now irritated by getting struck in a traffic jam. And now, he successfully created an alternative which can escape these kind of consequences. This is what I wanted to deliver personally. Here is a brief description of a flying car, which is on its way to hit the roads as well as the skies by the year 2011.

An American company Terrafugia Transition, based near Boston, is set to unveil the dual-purpose car-cum-plane vehicle called 'The Flying Car' as early as 2011. The two-seater vehicle can let you fly if you wish to avoid the congested city traffic.

If you want to drive on the road, just touch the road. The vehicle will fold up its wings in 30 seconds and transform itself into a car.

"The Flying Car" can travel up to 725 kilometres in the air at a speed of more than 115 kilometres per hour.

Fuelled by gasoline, it has front wheel drive on the road and a propeller for flight.

With its wings folded, it can be parked in your ordinary car garage.

Its initial cost is expected to be around $200,000 (nearly Rs.1 crore), says the company which has already orders for 60 vehicles.

This miracle vehicle will ease problems for pilots who currently face problems like weather which sometimes doesn't allow them to take off or land.

"This vehicle allows a pilot any time, if the weather changes, to divert to the nearest airport, fold up their wings and drive safely under the weather."

The Transition (the name for "The Flying Car") is not designed to replace the automobile. However, it will solve transportation issues for a variety of circumstances.

Set up in 2006, Terrafugia is run by trained aeronautical engineers and MBAs from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

New Audi Q5: 2009

Audi's prestigious Sports Utility Vehicle(SUV) Q5 is available in 2 engine options- 2.0 TFSI(petrol) and 3.0 TDI(diesel)- priced at Rs.38.29 lakh and Rs.44.19 lakh, respectively.
The Audi Q5 combines the dynamism of a sports sedan with Audi's all-wheel drive to create a superior technology package for both on and off-road driving. It joins Audi Q7 in creating a new market for the smaller luxury SUV admirer in the country.

Audi has taken the wraps off its new “Audi Q5 Custom Concept” at Wörthersee 2009 in Austria. Rather than just adding some visual upgrades (which include 21-inch wheels, a wide-body kit and Daytona Gray matte paint), Audi lowered the ride height of the Q5 and adding a little more power to its 3.0 TFSI engine.

The 3.0 TFSI V6 was supercharged to pump out a total of 408-hp with a peak torque of 369 lb-ft. The engine is mated to a quattro all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed S-tronic transmission. The Audi Q5 Custom Concept goes from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

The Audi Q5's special feature which forms the "Third generation advanced multimedia interface", is the special attraction among all other features and driving experiance of the car.

The interiors of the car are designed according to the customer feel and satisfaction, which gives us a comfortable traveling experience and a cool look.
